The Leatherneck Bowie is a premium Bowie knife signed by Cold Steel founder Mr. Lynn C. Thompson. Each knife is numbered and only 3000 will be produced worldwide. The shape of the blade references the classic shape of the Bowe knife. The blade of the Cold Steel Leatherneck is made of D2 steel. It is a kind of die steel with high additive content suitable for cold forging. The chromium and carbon content are particularly high. This steel is highly wear-resistant and holds the blade well, but machinability is reduced and the blade is more difficult to renew. It is fairly corrosion resistant, but it is not stainless steel. That’s why the blades are stone washed and anti-corrosive. The full tang design ensures the strength of the knife, and the solid handle features a thick steel cap (not the cheap cast or plastic we've seen on similar designs from competitors on the market). Therefore, the handle on the back of the knife can be used as a hammer in an emergency! The handle is made of Griv-Ex™ material. It is a handle material with unique properties that is significantly stronger than Zy-Ex. The material is not affected by moisture, temperature changes and does not distort.
