Ontario version of the M9 multi-purpose stabber
The M9 bayonet is an improvement on the Frobis Buckmaster hunting knife. The blade is made of stainless steel and is forged and pressed, making it thick and strong. The surface is dark gray. The cutting edge has been partially heat-treated, making it sharp and capable of cutting branches, sticks, and ropes. The longer section of the back of the knife has serrations. The teeth are sharp and at a suitable angle. It can cut through aircraft casings and 50.8mm thick pine boards. There is a long hole in the front of the blade.
The handle of the bayonet is cylindrical, made of dark green ST801 nylon produced by the American DuPont Company, with a mesh pattern on the surface and a good grip. There is a muzzle ring on the crossguard of the bayonet, and a small slot is opened at the end of the handle. The positioning method of combining with the gun is the same as the M7 bayonet.
The scabbard of the M9 bayonet is also made of ST801 nylon. The insert at the lower end of the scabbard has bamboo shoots and a cutting edge. The cutting edge angle design is reasonable and the hardness is high. When the long hole on the blade is put on the bamboo shoot, the blade and the edge of the scabbard fit closely together, and the wire mesh can be cut with it. The scabbard contains a whetstone and is protected by a fabric cover. There is also a screwdriver blade at the end of the scabbard, which can be used as a screwdriver.
